FISSION has been named Reader Views Book of the Year for the USA North East Region (comprising the states of New England and New York). This Award cuts across all genres of both fiction and non-fiction, so it’s adrenalin rush around here this morning. In addition, FISSION has been short-listed for their best Historical Fiction Award – that award will be announced next week, so please keep your fingers crossed for me (as long as it doesn’t get painful).

Deep into my 1,000 words a day for Feathered: being a fairy tale. Sometimes this can be a chore, but the words are flowing and there are surprises on every page – almost as if the fairies are guiding my hand. This could be the best Alex and Jackie Adventure yet.

Whenever Alexandra Caroline O’Rourke, AKA Alex, met with trouble, she generally blamed her younger sister, Jackie. And Alex’s sudden engagement to marry a Viking prince, against her will, would probably classify as trouble. If nothing else, a wedding held in 11th century Ireland would make it difficult to invite her friends from San Diego.
Regardless of blame, Jackie was the only person who could help Alex, but Jackie was still in the 21st century. And Jackie had her own problems. It had stopped raining; and this, of course, meant that the fairies had stopped singing. If Jackie could not find a way to make it rain, marauding Vikings would be the least of their worries, because this is Feathered and this is an Alex and Jackie Adventure.
